The Magical Fitness Technique No one Is Talking About.

If you are reading this now, you are one of the first to hear it. What I am about to share with you is one of the most fascinating and effective ways to burn fat, alleviate your aching back pain, and improve your overall health. As you read this I want you to remember.. you heard this from me first. So here it is.

Walking

Mind blowing right? Who would have thought. I hope you’re not disappointed. I’m sure you were hoping for a magic pill or bizarre exercise you could do from your couch. But before you stop reading, ask yourself this: When was the last time I just went for a ten minute walk outside? If you are having a hard time answering that question then just hear me out.

Fat Loss

I don’t know how many times fitness professionals will have to beat this to death, but here it is again. The MOST effective and lasting weight loss strategy is to be expending more energy (calories) than you are expending. While there are many ways to go about this, (eating less food, boring) one of the best ways is to increase your NEAT. NEAT stands for Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis. In other words, the activity that you are doing that is not during a structured exercise time. By simply taking 3 10 minute walks throughout the day you will automatically be increasing your Daily energy expenditure. On top of all that, did you know that fats are what are primarily used as your source of energy when performing mild to moderate exercise for short bouts of time? So hey, if you are looking for something easy and even relaxing that can help you in your fat loss journey, give this a try.

Back Pain?

Sorry I’m not a doctor, so take this with a grain of salt. But I was able to alleviate some intense low back pain using this secret new technique “walking”. There was a time at my job that I spent a lot of time sitting at a desk or on the road in an uncomfortable truck. As time went on my back began to fire up after long bouts of sitting. It nearly got unbearable. Realizing that it was the constant sitting that was causing the pain, I decided to start implementing 3, 10 minute walks throughout my work day. My body responded immediately. In fact, I felt so good from doing the walks that I would even feel my body seemingly asking me to do it whenever I possibly could. So I would take my kids on a walk when I got home and go for a stroll before bed. I should clarify that on top of walking I also discovered a couple of overactive and underactive muscles (thanks to a personal trainer) that I began to stretch and exercise. But the combination of these two things has nearly killed any back pain I was feeling previously. If you are suffering from chronic back pain you may want to see a licensed physician.

Overall Health

I originally started walking to overcome back pain and introduce a little more activity in my day. But I’ve continued walking for reasons other than this. For starters, I forgot how incredible it feels to just be outside. It sounds cliche, but the sun on my face and the wind on my skin filled me with a sense of peace. I now cherish this time as a time for meditation, relaxation, and reflection. I even started having people compliment me for being “more tan” than they remember. The sun has helped me feel energized to be productive throughout the entire day. And to add to that, I have noticed that it has helped me sleep better at night. I think this exposure to the sun and elements is helping to sync my circadian rhythm. And last but not least, this time gets me off of my phone. I know you’re just as addicted as I am. But let me tell you. Leaving my phone behind and having to actually look at the world around me has been incredible. Plus, I think it is helping quite a bit with my forward head and rounded shoulders.

So, if you made it this far, maybe it’s because you know this is something that you should try. If you’re looking for a personal trainer to help you with your fitness and health goals, check out www.PILLRfitness.com.
